The minibuses are a community facility; they are not run like commercial vehicles. All servicing, repairs etc., are paid for from a running cost fund. Any excess costs have to be met by fund-raising. Session fees go towards the eventual replacement of the vehicles.
We now offer the use of one 15 seater and two 17 seater minibuses to members. All vehicles have full seat belts and have facilities to carry a passenger in a wheelchair if required.
Groups provide their own voluntary driver who will be required to attend MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness) sessions. On completion they will be awarded a nationally recognised certificate. In some cases we may be able to provide a driver from our bank of volunteers.
Our affordable payment plan allows for community groups and charities to use us all year round for reduced rates. We have an annual affiliation fee of £35.00 (payable each April).
Groups can then use the minibuses for the following 12 months, for only £20.00 per session plus 30p per mile to cover diesel used.
Our minibuses are available 7 days a week, for the following sessions:
8am – 1pm
1pm – 5pm
5pm – late.
They can be booked for one session, full days or even weeks! (when available.)
